IDENTITY THEFT VICTIM HUNTS DOWN PERPS, SUPERMAN IN INDIA, TRIPPIEST HOTEL IN U.S., BANNED MODEL BILLBOARD!
Under a recently granted licensing agreement with Pez Candy, a gadget design company Lincoln West Studios will soon begin selling MP3 players modeled after the big-headed plastic treat sleeves.  http://news.com.com/Pez+to+dispense+MP3s+instead+of+candy/2100-1041_3-5637456.html?tag=st_lh

Here's one scene from the Indian Superman movie, where the Lois Lane character takes a flight that is hijacked. Copyright law must be WAY different over there!
Did I mention this excerpt is INSANE?

In the late 1960's a director was so mad at the horrible film bearing his name the name "ALAN SMITHEE" was used in the credits. Since then, that name has been used as an escape mechanism for filmmakers who willingly, or unwillingly, work on crap.  Next time you say to yourself, "How did this crap get made", watch the credits.  http://alansmithee.5u.com/

Continuing her self destructive path to a childhood/ normal life she'll never have, Britney Spears is in training to work at a fast food joint.  That should last about ten minutes.  Oh well, she can always buy Neverland when MJ has to pay his court bills.  How come the super hot ones, are often crazy????
Do I believe this story? Well it is the perfect cover story to hide a pregnancy behind, isn't it?

On July 25, 1946, Jerry began a show business partnership with Dean Martin, an association that would soon skyrocket both to fame. It started when Jerry was performing at the 500 Club in Atlantic City and one of the other entertainers quit suddenly. Lewis, who had worked with Martin at the Glass Hat in New York City, suggested Dean as a replacement. At first they worked separately, but then ad-libbed together, improvising insults and jokes, squirting seltzer water, hurling bunches of celery and exuding general zaniness. In less than eighteen weeks their salaries soared from $250.00 a week to $5,000.00.
For ten years Martin and Lewis sandwiched sixteen money making films between nightclub engagements, personal appearances, recording sessions, radio shows, and television bookings. Their last film together was "Hollywood or Bust" (1956). On July 25th of that year the two made their last nightclub appearance together at the Copacabana, exactly ten years to the day since they became a team.

X Minus One was a science fiction radio series on NBC from April 1955 through January 1958. The show feature stories written by some of the big names in 1950s science fiction, like Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, and Issac Asimov. For baby boomers that liked The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone and for all you Trekkies, X Minus One is the forefather of the science fiction you grew up with.

Each X Minus One starts with this intro, to the sound effects of a rocket lifting off:

Countdown for blast-off. X Minus 5, 4, 3, 2, X Minus 1, Fire. From the far horizons of the unknown come transcribed tales of new dimensions in time and space. These are stories of the future. Adventures in which you will live in a million could-be years on a thousand maybe worlds. The National Broadcasting Corporation in cooperation with (Galaxy Magazine, then Astounding Science Fiction) presents . . . . X Minus One.
It's a good intro for a great show. The plot's toast 99% of TV shows today. Hope that doesn't mean we are getting dumber.....

SECRETS OF WAR: WHEN WE FOUGHT JAPAN ON AMERICAN SOIL,  STALIN JOKES, DR. WHO RETURNS, WHY PEOPLE FOLLOWED HITLER!

"Undisputed queen of 70’s Japanese exploitation cinema next to Yumi TAKIGAWA or Naomi TANI, the name of Meiko KAJI has for decennia been familiar to any lover of B – and the cult continues, especially following Quentin TARANTINO’s recent threefold tribute to her in the captivating KILL BILL.

For a paper on film analysis I’d chosen FEMALE CONVICT SCORPION JAILHOUSE 41 by Shunya ITO. For a number of reasons – a love for Japanese cinema of course (especially 70’s exploitation cinema), as well as a fascination with the beautiful Meiko KAJI. Although my enthousiasm for this particular flic was also due to its surrealist and subversive nature."  http://www.meiko-kaji.com/intro_english.html

WHEN TIMES SQUARE WAS SLEAZY, TORTURE TOUR, DOG CONDOMS, 24 K GOLD DELOREAN, RAREST WHISKEY ON EARTH!
By the end of World War II, Times Square was a general entertainment area in which tourists, young people on dates, gamblers, con men, street preachers, taxi dancers, frequenters of bars, prostitutes, panhandlers, readers of smut and fans of movie sex and violence all mingled. It had become a rival of Coney Island in providing energetic and raffish amusement for a mass audience. The media, politicians and clergy deplored the “honky tonk” atmosphere just as strongly as they did the hard core sleaze of the late 70s and 80s. Even in its most sinister state, many imaginative people–artists, predators, thinkers, even mystics--went to Times Square, with the promise of victims, converts, comrades, the release of sexual tension, and an escape from “should” and “ought to” very much on their minds. It was the outsiders' America, and from it you could look up at the hard driving, busy, fashionable one as at a oversized billboard proclaiming gratification of the successful citizens' needs. Down at street level, amidst the noise, con men, greasy food odors, and street people of many countries, colors, and social classes, you looked around, checked out what you were here for, wondering what you might experience, whether you wanted to or not. In that mood, you might duck into one of the bookstores or back date magazine shops.   http://home.earthlink.net/~jgertzma/BkshopsofTimesSq/index.html

Prior to developing his unique creations, Caesar spent 17 years working in the Art and Photography Department of The Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto documenting child abuse, surgical reconstruction, psychology and animal research. The artist explains, 'I often awake in the middle of the night and realize I have been wondering the hallways and corridors of the giant hospital. It is clear to me that this is the birthplace of all my imagery.' These experiences continually haunt and present themselves in his dreamy images, which draw inspiration from the works of Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, and Paul Cadmus

In a Bank in Snyder, Texas there is a 24 Karat Gold DeLorean Car. I've never seen anything like it. The more questions I asked about it, the more I wanted to know. It can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in eight seconds without spinning the wheels and get an average 27 miles to each gallon of gasoline. Its stainless steel body is gold-plated. There are zero miles on the odometer. It has never had fuel in the tank. And it?s only one of two left like it in the world. The DeLorean car sits in a locked glass showcase in the lobby of the Snyder National Bank.

Twelve jurors were selected to meet for four months to hear the testimony of over fifty people, view all the evidence, and come to a verdict in the case of The State of California vs. Robert Blake. Participating as a juror on any case is an honor and an important civic duty. High profile cases such as this prove to be daunting and exhaustive. The trial was long and very emotional. Many of the jurors probably wrote down their feelings in some type of journal or diary regarding their experience since they were mandated not to talk to.

Juror number eleven, Roberto Emerick, decided to express his feelings the only way he knows how - through music, and here it is: Judgment day is a six song CD based on the murder trial of Robert Blake, the star of Barreta and the Little Rascals who was accused of killing his wife Bonnie Lee Bakely.

This is one great photoshop contest! Science fiction and fantasy often intermingle, albeit mostly on movie shelves and dreadful nerd fan fiction. Science fiction and fantasy author Andre Norton, who wrote the popular "Witch World" series, has died. She was 93. Her death was announced by friend Jean Rabe, who said Norton died Thursday of congestive heart failure at her home in Murfreesboro, a Nashville suburb. Norton requested before her death that she not have a funeral service, but instead asked to be cremated along with a copy of her first and last novels.

Born Alice Mary Norton on Feb. 17, 1912, in Cleveland, she wrote more than 130 books in many genres during her career of nearly 70 years. She used a pen name - which she made her legal name in 1934 - because she expected to be writing mostly for young boys and thought a male name would help sales.

She was the 60's swinger who became the definition of Hollywood liberal, making it with members of the Black Panthers, women, though it's all in denial now.

Along the way, she also became one of America's best actresses, though she doesn't seem to have much interest in it anymore.

A really good article that reminds us- that once she defined cool.  http://www.swinginchicks.com/jane_fonda.htm

It had to happen. Country and western, hillbilly- MASHUPS! Brilliant!  http://www.dasboot.net/

What has been lost in the outrage of Jane Fonda visiting Hanoi during the Viet Nam war was that week the movie F.T.A. was being released. It was quickly pulled out of circulation. I managed to see it at a protest rally and it was astonishing. Tens of thousand's of soldiers went to those shows, and many began to speak out against the war. She was outdrawing Bob Hope! It would have stunned the nation and the press- but her trip destroyed the good it would have accomplished.

She wasn't speaking to men the weekend of the demonstrations and was openly making out with a folk singer whose name you'll find out here.

She wasn't speaking to her lover Donald Southerland while she was "exploring her sexuality" either. Long after Vadim was gone!

Honey, it's 2005. Cheney has a lesbian daughter. I think it's ok to discuss why you liked women!  http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie.aspx?m=29385

This fembot knows thousands of phrases and can actually talk to you.  Oh yeah, it's from Japan!

"A fireball created in a US particle accelerator has the characteristics of a black hole, a physicist has said.

It was generated at the
Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) in New York, US, which smashes beams of gold nuclei together at near light speeds.

Horatiu Nastase says his calculations show that the core of the fireball has a striking similarity to a black hole."

How did this strange ritual begin? "Freebird" is hardly obscure -- it's a radio staple consistently voted one of rock's greatest songs. One version -- and an important piece of the explanation -- anchors Skynyrd's 1976 live album "One More From the Road." On the record, singer Ronnie Van Zant, who was killed along with two other bandmates in a 1977 plane crash, asks the crowd, "What song is it you want to hear?" That unleashes a deafening call for "Freebird," and Skynyrd obliges with a 14-minute rendition.

BEST SITE OF THE DAY:
Now that he is being smeared by yet another former free spirit turned politically correct, this Salon article is worth reading.

You know, all Jane Fonda had to say was that at the time she was not a feminist, she doesn't have to smear a dead guy. And since I met her when she was camped out with a woman folk singer, while seeing Donald Southerland, leaves some interesting questions about when this behavior ended. Anyway- Roger Vadim:
Roger Vadim, who died in Paris on Feb. 11 at 72, was the classiest exploitation filmmaker who ever lived. That's not intended to belittle the director, as some of the American obituaries that have appeared seem bent on doing. (If you read Alan Riding's obit in the New York Times you might wonder what's worse: death or having your life summed up by this guy.) Probably no screen purveyor of gratuitous female flesh has ever been so blithe, so beguiled by the leading ladies who paraded nude through his movies. The fact that those women were frequently his wives (Brigitte Bardot, Annette Stroyberg, Jane Fonda) or mistresses (Catherine Deneuve) might help to explain Vadim's unique brand of exhibitionist tenderness, but I think there's another reason: Vadim adored women.

Hahn's watercolor paintings in 'Twilight Chorus' transport the viewer to scenes from heaven and hell, populated by Japanese deities, demons and anime characters. During a recent trip to Kyoto, Hahn, who has studied Japanese art and traveled extensively in Japan over the past twenty five years, noticed striking similarities between the iconography of Catholicism she grew up with and ancient Buddhist art describing hell. Her paintings reflect similarities between hells, updating the concept with themes including mass marketing and the ubiquity of anime in both cultures."

After analysing the eradication of millions of ancient species, scientists have found that a mass extinction is due any moment now. Their research has shown that every 62 million years - plus or minus 3m years - creatures are wiped from the planet's surface in massive numbers. And given that the last great extinction occurred 65m years ago, when dinosaurs and thousands of other creatures abruptly disappeared, the study suggests humanity faces a fairly pressing danger. Even worse, scientists have no idea about its source. 'There is no doubting the existence of this cycle of mass extinctions every 62m years. It is very, very clear from analysis of fossil records,' said Professor James Kirchner, of the University of California, Berkeley. 'Unfortunately, we are all completely baffled about the cause.' http://education.guardian.co.uk/higher/research/story/0,9865,1437163,00.html

St. Patrick's Day is a very special day around the world, but nowhere is it more special than in Ireland, where it all started. St. Patrick, Ireland's patron saint, brought Christianity to the pagan Celts almost 1500 years ago. Whether you are Irish, or just wish that you were, his feast day on March 17th is the time to celebrate, and Ireland is THE place to be!

Dublin, the capital city, will quite literally be turned on it head this year as Ireland's greatest annual celebration takes over. An exciting 5-day programme of events includes street theatre, fireworks, music, exhibitions, symposiums, fun fairs and even a treasure hunt. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular 3 km-long St. Patrick's Day Festival parade, join in the dancing at the largest outdoor Céilí, and choose from a selection of Irish music concerts. Streets are closed to traffic and the city centre becomes a playground as revelers enjoy the entertainment, most of which is free. The "craic" (an Irish word for fun) is guaranteed!

To watch the parade live on March 17th at 12:30 pm GMT, go here!

If you can't wait until tomorrow you can watch the previous 2 years parades here too.

BTW if you're ever coming to Ireland the main page is great resource.  http://www.tourismireland.com/stpatricksday/

"Here, you will find information about Conan, Conan's world and its people, and other interesting stuff. I've tried to provide an original Conan site unlike any other."  All about Conan.

Last month, Boston University students launched Boink, a "sex positive" magazine produced by undergraduate students that features real co-eds in nothing but their birthday suits.

Created by and for students, the magazine comes straight on the heels of the sex-themed Harvard publication H Bomb as well as the sexuality-and sexual-health-oriented Vassar mag Squirm.

"Boink is porn, and we're not scared to say that. It's meant to arouse and entertain, and there's nothing wrong with that."

The first issue of Boink has sold more than 12,000 copies and may soon be reprinted due to high demand.

Rumors have abounded that Jane participated in orgies in the late 1960's.

She has finally confessed she did.

Sort of.

Watch the film BARBARELLA.

That is what she looked like when she was into group sex.

Jesus......

Roger Vadim, who died in Feburary was the king of libertine sex in the 60's- hey Bridgette Bardot and Jane Birken made it together in one of his films- so when Jane married him he sexual appetite was known by every person living in Europe. He was their Hugh Hefner.

And now I'm supposed to believe Jane didn't know.

Yeah, riiiiiight. Would you believe a girl who said she married Hugh Hefner, didn't know he liked sex, and was shocked to discover he did?

If you've missed Fiona Apple, San Francisco Examiner columnist Mark Morford has good news - someone's gained access to the never-released "Extraordinary Machine" (shelved by Sony), and the tracks are everywhere on the Internet.

Martha Stewart isn't the only cultural icon who is back from a trip down the river - Tommy Chong, one half of everyone's favorite 70s stoner act, was released from the Taft Correctional Institute in California in July of last year.

Chong sat down with San Francisco Examiner columnist Aidin Vaziri recently, to blame Bush, praise prison pals, and talk about what he's doing these days.

A world conference in Australia of leading anti aging scientists has been told that the Japanese Island of Okinawa has up to four times as many people over the age of 100 years than anywhere else in the world. Charlie Gracie is one of a diminishing number of rock-n-roll innovators, who continues to actively perform. A native of South Philadelphia, he became the first successful recording star of the "Rock Era" to emerge from that neighborhood. In 1957, Charlie's 'Butterfly' topped the American and British music charts, selling over 3 million copies. His other late fifties big sellers include: 'Fabulous', 'Ninety-Nine Ways', 'Wanderin Eyes' and 'I Love You So Much It Hurts'. These hits bankrolled Philly's famous Cameo-Parkway record label, making it a dominant force in the music industry for nearly a decade! At the height of his fame, Charlie frequently appeared on 'Dick Clark's American Bandstand', 'The Ed Sullivan Show', and 'Alan Freed's TV Specials'.

If you're thinking "Lyn who?" you surely must know the line "It takes two to make a thing go right, it takes two to make it out of sight" from "It Takes Two" by Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock. Well that's her, the vocal was stolen... sorry, sampled from her 1972 funk classic "Think (About It)" which she wrote and was produced by James Brown.  with mp3 download   http://www.londonlee.com/2005/03/female-preacher-rip.html
