Goodbye Bettie Page, Richard Crowe Christmas Lecture, Brides Christmas Show

A Bettie Page shrine

Bettie Page, the brunet pinup queen with a shoulder-length pageboy hairdo and kitschy bangs whose saucy photos helped usher in the sexual revolution of the 1960s, has died. She was 85.

Page, whose later life was marked by depression, violent mood swings and several years in a state mental institution, died Thursday night at Kindred Hospital in Los Angeles, where she had been on life support since suffering a heart attack Dec. 2, according to her agent, Mark Roesler.

The Puritans, the Quakers, Protestants, Catholics have all tried to ban the holiday once they discovered what it celebrated. Here's a hint, put the mistletoe over your bed instead of near your fertility bush! Find out the true origins of Christmas, and hear the supernatural stories of Chicago.

Amy Sherman prefers Pink Floyd over Led Zeppelin. She likes cats, and her fav actor is Daniel Day Lewis. Especially in THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS, in which he runs around scantily clad.

She didn't get into acting until college and she realized she didn't want to  grow up and have responsibility. Acting gave her a chance to play pretend and avoid public scorn.

I TOLD YOU IT WAS THE BEST ANSWER EVER!

Haunted Holidaze Program--

Did you know that people born on Christmas can become werewolves? Hear all about fabulous holiday season ghostlore and folklore in a special program given by Chicago's original ghosthunter and gonzo folklorist, Richard Crowe.

There will be a special emphasis on the Chicago area with holiday season tales, including --
1903 - Before "Wicked" there was "Bluebeard" -- a fairy tale theater production that meant holiday season death for over 600 Chicagoans and still on-going hauntings.
1913 - The "Chistmas Tree Schooner" and its disappearance on Lake Michigan. It now sails local waters as a ghost ship!
1957 -- Two soon-to be kidnap victims leave a December showing  of the Elvis flick  "Love Me Tender" and vanish from the world of the living. Their ghosts still plead for justice on a lonely suburban roadway.
1958 -- December brings a firey death to 95 students and teachers at a working class Catholic school on the westside. The psychic flames still burn after fifty years!

And more! Hear master storyteller and ghost expert, Richard Crowe,  bring in the holidays with a ghostly shiver!

FOLLOWED BY A SPECIAL PSYCHOTRONIC FILM SOCIETY SCREENING OF CHRISTMAS WITH SCTV! Starring John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis and more!
